CPAFE advances women in the workplace through networking, mentoring and educating.

Networking

CPAFE offers a unique opportunity to meet women whom are successful in all aspects of business, from the corporate ranks to entrepreneurs. Every meeting and event allows ample opportunity to hone networking skills while enjoying the company of business-minded women. The highlight of all our networking opportunities is the annual "Speed Networking" event - a rigorous 30 minutes not to be missed!

Mentoring

CPAFE is the only women's organization in Central PA with an established, formal Mentoring Program that promotes "women advancing women." The Mentoring Committee matches members with an interest in nurturing their career with members who are eager to share their professional experiences. The Mentor Committee created the formal program and launched the first, annual class of mentor/protege pairs in 2005. Since then, the number of participating pairs has almost doubled.

The Committee provides each class of participants with team-building activities, relationship training, reference materials, and program monitoring to support a successful match. In return, mentors and proteges make a 12-month commitment to the pairing, and pledge to hold monthly, informal meetings at a location and time that works best for the pair.

The next mentoring session begins January first. If you are interested in participating in the program, please contact Jen Ponce de Leon at 648-6251 or Jennifer.PoncedeLeon@otis.com

"Being a mentor has given me the opportunity to reflect on what I have learned and to put those lessons to good use, not only for my own company, but for another woman-owned business."
-- Jennifer Hammaker, Founder/President, Yellowcakes Inc.

Educating

CPAFE encourages professional development through its programming. Each monthly meeting includes speakers who will teach you new leadership, marketing, financial planning and interpersonal skills. Participating on any of CPAFE's committees also provides a great opportunity to learn new skills while forming closer relationships with other members. Learn new, marketable skills within the event planning, finance, marketing, membership, mentoring, programming, and nominating committees.
